A New Kind of Maternity Shoot

Photos are, more than anything, a documentation of a moment of time, a story told in snapshots. I was blessed to be able to jump into Anna's world for a few hours, experience the outpouring of love and attention that enfolds her family of husband, son, dog - a family that's about to grow by one in a matter of weeks.

Rather than a typical "maternity shoot," she wanted to capture all of them as they were, right now: her son alternating between fussy and absorbed in whatever camera, car, pen and paper, or object in his path; her dog, rowdy and exuberant, a steady stream of Cantonese and Italian flowing back and forth between her and her husband.

And how lucky are their little ones, to absorb three languages by osmosis?!
